How To Enable Find My On iPhone

Find My is a feature on the iPhone that can help you locate your iPhone if you ever lose it or if it’s stolen. It can also help you lock or erase your iPhone so that no one can access your personal information. Enabling Find My on your iPhone is a straightforward process that anyone can do.

Log In To iCloud

The first thing you need to do is make sure that you’re logged in to iCloud on your iPhone. iCloud is a service by Apple that helps you find your phone. To check, go to ‘Settings‘ and look for your Apple ID at the top of the menu. Make sure that your Apple ID is displayed there. If not, you’ll need to enter your Apple ID and password to log in.

Enable Find My iPhone

Once logged in, go to ‘Settings‘ again and click on your Apple ID and tap on the ‘Find My‘ option. There are 3 options that you need to turn on, ‘Find My iPhone‘, ‘Find My Network‘ and ‘Send Last Location‘. Now that it’s enabled, your iPhone will automatically send its location to iCloud every time it’s connected to Wi-Fi or cellular. This means that you’ll be able to find your phone even if it’s off.

In addition to finding your phone, Find My also lets you lock or erase your phone remotely. You can do this from any device with an internet connection by going to iCloud Find on any browser, logging in with your Apple ID and selecting your phone.

In case your phone is stolen, you can use ‘Lost Mode‘ to lock your phone and display a message on the lock screen with a phone number where your phone can be reached and returned. If you’re certain you won’t get your phone back, you can choose the ‘Erase iPhone‘ option which will delete all personal data including credit card details and even any iCloud account saved. This will return the phone to factory settings and make it impossible for anyone to access your data.
