Build & Design
The Note 8 has a dual curved edge with a nearly bezel-less Infinity Display to the point where the phone feels like a mini tablet. It has an impressive design but is slightly heavy. The curved edges of the display have a slightly more abrupt slope to lessen the writing disruption when using the S Pen.
It also has an IP68 rating which means it can survive up to 1.5m underwater for 30 minutes and uses the reversible USB-C standard.
Display
The Note 8 has a Super AMOLED display with vibrant colours and deep blacks with 2960 x 1440 resolution, so everything is clear. It also has Always On display functions and with the Note, you gain the ability to write memos right on the standby screen and pin them to the Always On display.
Camera
The Note 8 is the first Samsung flagship that featured a dual-camera setup and also 2x optical image stabilisation on each of the lenses.
The primary lens is a 12MP sensor while the secondary lens is a 12MP telephoto lens. The camera also features a variety of modes, including Pro mode, Live Focus and Panorama.
Performance
The Note 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is a capable chipset to date. It’s paired with 6GB RAM which allows seamless multitasking and speedy app launches. The device also had 64GB of storage which is expandable with a microSD card.
Battery
The Note 8 has a 3,300mAh battery which is sufficient to get users through a full day of moderate usage. Heavy users may need to top up mid day. The phone also supports fast charging which can boost up your phone within a short amount of time. Overall, the battery life is sufficient for the average user.
