Samsung S22 Review

Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus: Premium Features at an Affordable Price

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus sits in the middle of the Samsung Galaxy S22 range. It isn’t as feature-rich as the S22 Ultra, but it offers a bigger screen to play with than the Galaxy S22. With a large screen, versatile camera array and impressive performance capabilities, it seems to have everything you might want in a phone, even if Samsung has released the Galaxy S23 as a successor.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus has a modern design with slim bezels, a flat display and a hole punch cutout for the front-facing camera. The metal back has a smooth texture and features a contour-cut design that blends the camera module with the frame. Overall, the Galaxy S22 is a well-designed smartphone that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Display

The 6.6-inch AMOLED screen is one of the areas where the device excels. It has a 1080 x 2400 resolution which makes it a gorgeous display which is smooth, bright and has brilliant colour accuracy making content really shine.

Whether it’s watching movies, playing games or scrolling through social media, the screen is excellent at any task its given.

Performance

The Samsung S22 Plus is powered by Exynos 2200 chipset paired with 8GB RAM, which is just about as much as any smartphone needs. It’ll be useful for people who like jumping between different apps all the time. Storage comes in 128GB or 256GB, but there’s no expandable storage. You can consider using cloud storage if that’s not enough for you. The smartphone can run on the latest Android 13.

Camera

The Samsung S22 Plus has a triple camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultra-wide sensor and 12MP telephoto lens. The camera performance is excellent with sharp and detailed images and great color accuracy.

On the front, there’s a 10MP selfie cam which takes great selfies.

Battery

The Samsung S22 Plus comes with a 4,500mAh battery, which is sufficient enough to last you through out the day on a single charge. The device also features 45W fast charging support, which allows you to charge the phone quickly when you’re in a hurry.

There’s also reverse wireless charging at 15W and reverse power sharing at 4.5W (which lets you power up other devices using the Plus as a wireless charging pad).

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is a worthy premium flagship phone that offers a similar experience to its more expensive counterpart, the S22 Ultra, at a lower price point. Despite lacking some features, the Galaxy S22 Plus makes up for it with its impressive design and overall performance, exceeding many of its competitors. While it may not have the S Pen of the S22 Ultra, the Galaxy S22 Plus is one of the best Android phones on the market, making it an excellent choice for those who don’t need a stylus.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus is available on the Badili website or any of their exclusive stores located at Ambience Mall, Ring Road, Westlands and Riara Road near Junction Mall for only KES 70,531.
