How To Hide Apps On iPhone

Hiding apps on an iPhone is simple and can be done in different ways. If you want to hide your photos or health app – or you want to have a clean and minimal home screen, you need to know where to put your apps so that they’re hidden from view but still accessible when you need them.

There are three methods of concealing your apps:

Hide individual iPhone apps

To hide individual apps you don’t need on your home screen:

• Hold the app icon that you want to hide.
• Tap Remove App from the pop-up menu.
• Select Remove from Home Screen.

The app icon will disappear from the home screen. However, note that apps removed from the home screen are still visible in the App Library when you search for the app. You can access those hidden apps by going directly to your App Library.

Hide a page of apps from the Home screen

If you want to have your iPhone only display apps that you use regularly, you can hide an entire page of apps in an instant:

• Press and hold the Home screen until the app icons shake.
• Press on the pill icon with dots at the bottom of the page.
• Tap the checkmark under the page of the apps you want to hide.

Now the page(s) of apps you deselected won’t be displayed on your Home screen unless you repeat the steps and select the page again to redisplay it.

Hide apps so they don’t show up in searches

If you want to hide an app even further, you can also prevent it from showing up in your app searches.

Here’s how to hide apps from searches:

• Open the Settings app, tap on Siri & Search.
• Select the app you want to hide.
• Toggle off Show App in Search so it turns grey.

Although the app will no longer appear in searches, it’s still installed on your device, so it won’t help free up space. To help with that, you’ll need to delete the app completely.

Unhide or find all hidden apps on your iPhone

All apps you have installed can be found within the App Library. Even those hidden from your Home screen or from the search function. Here’s how to unhide apps via the App Library.

• On the home screen, scroll to the right until the final page displays the App Library.
• Find the hidden app you want either by scrolling or using the App Library search bar.
• To unhide the app, tap and hold the app icon, drag it to the left and release your finger to drop the app icon in your desired location.

If you previously hid the app using Siri & Search, it still won’t show up in searches. To re-enable search visibility, toggle on Show App in Search.
